This is a two (2) day course designed to train participants in meeting the requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, the Code of Practice, and in the safe practices of trench shoring in accordance with its requirements.

Satisfactory completion of this course will allow the participants to supervise works on excavations greater that 1.5 metres in depth

Participants will receive a Statement of Attainment on successful completion of the nationally accredited unit RIICCM210D Install Trench Support from the Certificate III in Civil Construction.

This course is aimed at:
• Water Boards
• Plumbers
• Drainers
• Excavation Groups

Topics covered include:
• Regulations and permits
• Close timer shoring
• Soldier sets, excavation shields
• Safe trenching practices
• Practical exercise

The course can be run at Chisholm Institute or at the client's workplace, and requires a minimum of 8 to a maximum of 20 participants.
