Make Chisholm Your First Preference
At Chisholm, we believe that your future and your success have nothing to do with your ATAR. This is why we offer a number of alternative pathways to get you into your dream course, and also get you into your dream career sooner.
You don’t need an ATAR to get into our courses*. At the same time, we are proud to deliver high-quality courses that lead to nationally recognised qualifications and real career outcomes. Our experienced teachers are industry experts and will provide you with a fantastic learning experience and the support you need.
Chisholm pathways begin with a certificate or a diploma course. On completion you receive advanced standing into the related degree course through us or one of our university partners. The combination of vocational and academic studies gives you theory, practical skills, and work experience, the exact the mix that employers are looking for.

With a Chisholm pathway, you can gain up to four qualifications in as little as three years. And because you earn vocational qualifications before your degree, you can start working in the field earlier. This makes a pathway a more cost-effective option, and means that the start of your career – and your independent life – could be just a few months away.
Many of our pathway certificates and diplomas are in the Victorian Government's Free TAFE courses list. Free TAFE courses are tuition fee free when studying on-campus. Some online Free TAFE courses do not attract any fees.
With eight campus locations and online, you can study close to home, and save time and money.
If employment is your goal, why not make Chisholm your Plan A rather than your Plan B? We can customise a pathway that will help you chase – and catch – your calling sooner.
We currently offer the following degrees:
- Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Mechanical and Manufacturing)
- Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Mechatronics)
- Bachelor of Nursing (Enrolled Nurse Entry)
- Bachelor of Community Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs
* Some courses may require VCE subjects. We strongly recommend you check the prerequisites of the course you’re interested in.
