This course is designed for beginners who are interested in learning basic silver smithing skills and techniques to make a set of sterling silver stacking rings.

Over two sessions you will learn the following basic silversmithing techniques:

- How to accurately measure silver to create a specific ring size
- Sawing
- Forming
- Soldering
- Filing
- Adding texture to silver
- Polishing and oxidising

Each ring in your set of stacking rings will help to develop specific skills, such as how best to prevent marring the silver when forming a ring, matching seams on patterned silver, adding embellishments, and hammer texturing.

This is a great course for those who would like to gain fundamental jewellery making skills in a relaxed, creative environment. All skills gained in this short course can be readily applied to other pieces and provide the perfect foundation for the intermediate bezel ring making course.
