​Short course on AutoCAD Level 1

AutoCAD is one of the most common computer aided drafting (CAD) software used for drawing and drafting in various industries including Architecture, Building, Construction, Interior design, Mechanical and manufacturing, HVAC, Product design and many more.

This training course is designed to provide learners opportunities to gain hands-on-experience in 2D design and drafting using AutoCAD software. Learners will gain in-depth understanding of drafting and design in accordance with Australian Standards AS/NZS1100 and enhance CAD skills with the state-of-the-art capabilities of AutoCAD software.

The contents of the course are designed to suit users across broad range of industries and delivered in variety of modes including lecture, practical demonstration and hands on activities with real life examples.

- Introduction to AutoCAD Interface, navigating drawings and managing files and options
- Drawing objects using various drawing tools
- Editing drawing using various modify tools
- Maintaining accuracy of drawing
- Using text, dimension and hatch
- Re-use of object using block
- Drawing organisation with layers
- Printing and Presentation of drawing using title block
- Implementation of AS1100 in drawing


Course outcomes

On successful completion, participants should gain comprehensive understanding of the basic functions and tools in AutoCAD and perform basic 2D CAD drafting to accomplish small scale drafting project.

Prerequisites

Basic computer skills. No prior knowledge of AutoCAD is required
