COVID-19 Announcement: Changes to course delivery. View our Coronavirus updates page.

The Victorian Government is offering free short accredited training courses to help people impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic re-skill and find work in the construction industry.

Short courses and ‘tickets to work’ are the fastest way to get the skills for a job in the construction industry.

This training is available immediately to people who wish to transition into the construction industry or those already in the industry who are seeking to re-skill.

These courses are fee free and will be exempt from the usual Government-subsidised eligibility criteria. To manage demand, participants can only undertake one course.

The courses will be delivered in partnership with key employers and industry bodies to deliver the skills required for Victoria’s major infrastructure projects and will be available up to 30 June, 2022.

The courses will be delivered in accordance with prescribed COVID-19 settings.

Construction Industry Skill Sets supports Victoria’s Skills First program that subsidises training and tuition-free training at TAFEs and complements other initiatives to support Victoria’s economic recovery, such as Free TAFECourse in Working Safely in the Solar Industry and Course in Introduction to the National Disability Insurance SchemeJobTrainer and Working for Victoria.
