Who is the National Comorbidity Guidelines Face-to-Face Training Program suitable for?
The face-to-face training program was designed to meet the needs of workers in the AOD sector in managing co-occurring AOD and mental health conditions, however applies to Mental Health, Youth Work and the wider Community Services sector. The training is suitable for students and workers from a range of practice backgrounds, and with varying levels of experience.
The intended outcomes from the training are:
1. Increased knowledge and awareness of how to identify, manage and treat co-occurring mental health conditions in AOD treatment settings
2. Improved confidence and skills of AOD workers
3. Increased utilisation of evidence-based care
Program Modules
This short course covers the first two modules in the training program. Module 1 ‘Understanding Comorbidity’ and Module 2 ‘Screening and Assessment’ which are core modules.
Participant Workbooks
A participant online workbook containing the slides and worksheets accompanies each module. Each participant will have an electronic copy of the module workbook prior to the training. You will require access to the workbook to record notes as well as being able to view the facilitator slides during the workshop. This may require two devices or participants printing out the workbooks.
In addition, Module 2 requires participants to download assessment tools and scoring guides.
