Would you like to redesign your house, or simply redecorate your bedroom? Want to see what it's like to work as an interior decorator? Have you been inspired by home makeover shows and want to step into the world of design?

Take the first step to achieving your goals and build the skills you require to reinvent interiors. Develop the confidence to use colour creatively for aesthetics and ambience.

This practical and theoretical eight session course covers:
• hands-on practical exercises
• interior design theory including colour theory
• understanding use of materials, fabrics and finishes
• experimentation with lighting (ambience)
• space design and planning
• furniture concepts.

This course can pathway into Chisholm's Certificate IV in Design (CUA40715).

Please note: no classes will be held on 18 October and 8 November 2017.

  • What to bring
    (On week one please bring magazines, visual diary, pencils and pens.)
    Visual diary A3 or A4, watercolour paints or gouache paint, brush - size 10 nylon or water colour round, palette pot for water, towel for clean up, fine liner, coloured pencils, A3 foam core board, scissors, glue stick, eraser, style home magazines to cut up and catalogs from furniture home stores, samples of paint colours, fabrics, flooring etc…
