Gain the skills you need to establish and run your electrical contracting business

This six week self-directed course will provide you with business skills and knowledge to apply as a Registered Electrical Contractor (REC) with Energy Safe Victoria and start your own business.

You will learn how to write a business plan, meet legislative and regulatory obligations, prepare quotes and tender responses. You will be prepared to run a business that meets OHS and workplace relations requirements.

To gain REC registration, you will need to meet the requirements set out by Energy Safe Victoria. You or your nominated technical supervisor will need to be a licensed electrician in Victoria and hold an appropriate qualification. See the Energy Safe Victoria website for detailed requirements.

Your online learning materials can be accessed by desktop, laptop or mobile device, so you can complete your learning flexibly.

On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the accredited unit of study: VU21527 Conduct an electrical contracting business.
