If you’re a food business owner in Victoria, you must ensure your staff have the skills and knowledge to handle food safely. If your business is classified as Class 1 and Class 2, you must have a Food Safety Supervisor who is responsible for supervising all aspects of safely handling food. This course provides supervisors with the skills and knowledge to confidently manage food safety in the workplace.
Prerequisite: completion of the relevant industry Safe Food Handling course.
Assessment will be conducted as part of class activities with additional tasks to be completed in the workplace. On successful completion of this course, students will receive a Statement of Attainment for the following nationally accredited units of competency:
• HLTFSE007 Oversee the day-to-day implementation of food safety in the workplace
• HLTFSE005 Apply and monitor food safety requirements
For people working in the health sector (including child care, aged care, hospitals and other high risk businesses), additional assignment work is required. A workplace assessment will also be conducted, which takes an hour at the student’s workplace after classroom training is completed. This is an additional cost of $170.
