Hayley’s journey from personal hardship to newfound confidence shows the transformative power of education. With the foundation’s support, Hayley is shaping a brighter future for her family.

Hayley’s pathway into education began from a place of deep personal hardship, losing her mum at 16 and her dad at 18 years of age; two devastating experiences that forced her to grow up quickly and navigate adulthood without the support of immediate family.

As Hayley entered adulthood, financial strain and discouragement made it difficult to imagine a future where study was possible. Hayley dreamed of gaining new skills, but the cost of education felt out of reach, and she feared she would have to give up before even beginning.

A CCEF scholarship changed that trajectory. The support removed the financial barriers standing in her way and gave her the chance to start her education at Chisholm. With the support of the foundation, Hayley completed the Certificate III in General Education for Adults (22692VIC), followed by the Certificate III in Hospitality (22692VIC) and Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (SIT30821). Hayley is continuing her journey with the Certificate III in Hairdressing (SHB30416).

For Hayley, receiving a scholarship meant far more than financial relief. It strengthened her confidence, improved her wellbeing, and showed her that she could achieve her goals. With each qualification, Hayley felt more supported, empowered, and proud of what she was building for herself and her family.

The scholarship has strengthened Hayley’s confidence and created a more stable, hopeful future for her family. Hayley’s growth through study has inspired those around her and opened new possibilities at home. Looking ahead, Hayley hopes to use her newfound skills to support her family and contribute in meaningful, practical ways.

Hayley is deeply grateful to the donors, partners and staff who made her scholarship possible, giving her the chance to begin again and believe in her future.

“It has built my confidence, wellbeing and showed me that if you follow your dreams and put your mind to it, you can do anything. I would have struggled financially and walked away from the courses. Instead, it helped me strive with success.”
