With the foundation’s support, Marino has been given the opportunity to pursue his dream of working in the field of engineering.
Marino started his study journey at Chisholm as a mature-aged student, completing the Introduction to Welding – MIG and ARC (SC271C) Short Course in 2022, and Advanced Welding Techniques (SC272) in 2024.
This led him to pursue the Certificate II in Engineering, which included a welding component and further strengthened his skills. Through the course, Marino knew that he wanted to pursue Engineering as a career. Since completing the Short Courses, and completing a Certificate II in Engineering (22632VIC), Marino has now commenced studies in Certificate III In Engineering - Mechanical Trade (MEM30219).
Marino says "that’s how I landed my job as an apprentice welder. Without the foundation’s support, I wouldn't be on my current path. I am now working towards my Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication) and have started an apprenticeship with a local company near home."
To all the sponsors of the Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation, Marino extends a big thank you. The opportunity to complete this course has enabled Marino to pursue his passion for welding and metal fabrication.
“I am happy to be working in my chosen field. I am helping to build frames for construction site huts, schools and railway stations. I feel that this is a big contribution to my community.”"Thank you to all those who fund the Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation."
