Combine your creativity with a rewarding career in hairdressing

As a hairdresser, you help people look and feel their best. You'll build strong, long-term relationships with clients and impact lives for the better.

On successful completion of the Certificate III in Hairdressing, you'll be a qualified hairdresser. You'll have the skills and confidence to work in the hair and beauty sector. You could even start your own business.

This industry-recognised qualification requires a commitment to hands-on practical training on campus. Our industry experienced teachers will support you through online coursework and face-to-face practical assessments.

You'll gain industry experience and hands-on training at our on-campus salon, Mysa Salon and Spa. You'll gain practical skills by working with real-life clients, providing them with customised services under the supervision of salon staff and teachers.

You'll learn the latest techniques and be confident in cutting, colouring, highlighting, styling, and long hair design. You'll gain skills in identifying and treating hair and scalp conditions. And you'll focus on customer service, retail stock management, salon hygiene, healthy work practices, and more.

All skills assessments are required to be carried out on paying members of the public. Students are responsible for sourcing their own practice and assessment models. Teachers can provide guidance on how to create social media posts to attract models.

The information on the page is for non-apprenticeship students only.  If you are an apprentice or employer of an apprentice, please view Certificate III in Hairdressing (SHB30416) - Apprenticeship information page.
