Before joining Chisholm, Leigh spent years working as a trainer and assessor in trades in remote communities. When his personal circumstances changed, Leigh accepted the challenge to begin a new chapter, which led him to secure his role as an Apprenticeship Support Officer.

Drawing on his life experience, Leigh has focused on building strong relationships with apprentices and providing meaningful support. He understands the importance of proactively reaching out to apprentices, maintaining a contact rate 35% above the team average. His warm, approachable nature helped him become a trusted advisor, making every apprentice feel supported.

“I ensure apprentices know that someone is in their corner, which makes a very positive impact,” said Leigh.

Leigh is a visible and active presence across Chisholm. He frequently visits trade departments and attends community trade days to advocate for apprentices and strengthen relationships. His positive, upbeat nature helps him form strong connections with students, staff and industry stakeholders alike.

He also supports colleagues by delivering tailored class presentations and sharing his extensive knowledge of the Apprentice Victoria community. Known for his creative problem‑solving and collaborative spirit, Leigh contributes to a dynamic and supportive team environment.

Looking ahead, Leigh hopes to continue building relationships with apprentices and expanding cross‑department collaboration through student events and shared initiatives.

Leigh is a finalist in the 2026 Chisholm Education Awards – Service Excellence Employee of the Year, for his commitment to apprentice success and community engagement.
