Graduation ceremony booking FAQs
- How much does it cost to attend the graduation ceremony?
The graduation ceremony ticket is $65.00 (plus booking fee) per graduand and includes:
- One (1) graduand ticket
- Two (2) complimentary guest tickets
- Professional photography session including one complimentary portrait download
- Graduation stole and gown hire
- Light refreshments (small snack and drink per person)
- Keepsake graduation program and medallion
- Printed certificate / testamur
- How many guests can I bring to the ceremony?
Each graduand can book a maximum of two (2) guest tickets for the graduation ceremony. Children over 24 months of age will require their own guest ticket.
If additional guest tickets become available, graduands will be advised.
- Do I need to make a separate photoshoot booking?
No, your professional graduation photos will be taken at the venue once you are gowned. The photography is included in your graduand ticket, and your guests can also have a photo with you after your graduation headshot.
- What time should I arrive at the venue?
- 3.30pm - check in time begins
- 4.00pm – light refreshments served (more substantial offerings can be purchased through the venue café or bar located on site or at restaurants close by)
- 4.30pm - check in time closes
- 4.50pm - Graduands will be asked to be seated in the theatre for a briefing
- 5.10pm - Guests will be asked to enter theatre and be seated
- 5.30pm - The ceremony begins in thetheatre
- 7.30pm – expected conclusion of ceremony
- 8.30pm – gown return
- Can I buy the graduation gown and stole?
Gowns and stoles are hired by Chisholm and cannot be purchased.
- I graduated in a diploma level – will I still get a mortarboard (graduation hat)?
Mortarboards are worn by Undergraduate certificate and Bachelor level and above graduands only.
- What happens if I cannot attend the ceremony after I’ve booked?
You may cancel your booking up to 48 hours prior to the ceremony to receive a full refund.
All cancellations must be in writing and sent to events@chisholm.edu.au. Refunds will not be considered with less than 48 hours notice. All refunds will be provided by the venue.
- When will I receive my photos from the graduation ceremony photoshoot?
Your photos will available after your session via a link that can be an instant download at no additional cost. Please ensure that you have a mobile phone with you.
- Can I purchase food and drinks?
- Graduands and their guests will receive a small snack and drink as part of their graduation ticket at approximately 4pm.
- If graduands and their guests are after a more substantial meal, the venue café and bar will be open for purchases.
- Many restaurants and eateries are available close by.
Photoshoot session questions (not attending graduation ceremony)
- How much does the photoshoot cost?
The graduation photoshoot is $40.50 (plus booking fee) and includes:
- Up to three (3) guests for a 10 minute photography session
- Graduation stole and gown hire
- Printed certificate / testamur
- Do I need to pay an additional cost to receive my photos?
No, your professional photos are included in your booking.
- When do I need to arrive for my photoshoot at the venue?
Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before your booking time.
- Can guests attend the graduation photoshoot?
Yes, your photoshoot session will consist of your individual photo taken, and one group photo with up to three guests.
- What happens if I cannot attend my photoshoot session during the day?
Cancel your booking via your confirmation email and/or SMS message, or email the Chisholm events team directly via events@chisholm.edu.au.
Full refunds are available if cancellation is given with more than 48 hours notice. Refunds will not be considered with less than 48 hours notice.
