Industry recognition
Embraced
Embraced is a leader in social and community project design. Its purpose is to create inclusive, thriving communities by connecting generations through art, culture and creativity.
In 2024, Embraced engaged Chisholm’s VCE Vocational Major (VM) students to develop the Songs for You music project. This project, conducted as part of the VCE VM literacy stream, enriched the students' Year 12 journey at TAFE. It included an innovative approach to learning about advocacy, fostering personal growth and confidence.
The initiative also brought students and aged care residents together through music. They met regularly to share life stories and form genuine friendships. Students composed and produced songs celebrating the older adults’ lives. The project demonstrated the power of storytelling through music. It helped both age groups share their skills, boost their confidence and provided joy and connection for aged care residents.
This unique collaboration of creativity, empathy, and discipline provided participants with a well-rounded educational experience that has prepared them for the future and challenged preconceptions of different generations.

Greater Dandenong Youth and Family Services
Youth and Family Services works with young people and their families who live, work, study or have a connection to the City of Greater Dandenong.
The service comprises of three teams: Family Support, Youth Engagement and Participation, and Youth and Community Development. They have been working with Chisholm’s Art and Design students for the past 20 years, through art exhibitions and partnerships.
In 2024, the Youth and Family Services team initiated a different approach by collaborating on a grass roots project. The project centred around social media and body image, with a peer-to-peer social media campaign designed by our VETDSS Design Fundamentals students. This project was an end-to-end design project and was published via Dandenong City Council platforms and on other third-party social media.
