Dandenong Tech School Construction – 50% Complete

As of December, the Dandenong Tech School project has reached 50% completion. Key milestones include the pouring of the slab, installation of precast concrete panels in two stages, and completion of the steel framing. The project is progressing on schedule, marking a significant step toward delivering this innovative learning space.
Construction Officially Commences for Dandenong Tech School
September, 2025
On Friday 19 September, Chisholm was honoured to welcome Member for Dandenong, The Hon. Gabrielle Williams MP to officially mark the commencement of construction of the Dandenong Tech School.
The event brought together key project representatives including Chris Doufas, Director, and David Waters, General Manager from Building Engineering; Chisholm’s CEO, Stephen Varty; Chief of Education, Conor Mullan; Director of Dandenong Tech School, Mark Drummond, and Deputy Chair of the Chisholm Institute Board, George Lekakis.
The $14 million government-funded initiative will deliver a state-of-the-art STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) centre, to support hands-on, future-focused learning.
Contractor announced
July, 2025
Building Engineering Pty Ltd have been appointed as the Main Works contractor for the construction of the Dandenong Tech School. Construction commenced in July 2025, and the project is due for completion in July 2026.
Announcement of new Tech Schools
November, 2023
Dandenong Tech School is one of the six new Tech Schools announced by the Victorian Government 2023. The Tech School will be based at Chisholm’s Dandenong Campus on the corner of Stud Road and Oswald Street.
