Learn how to safely and effectively operate and maintain a hand-held chainsaw

This nationally recognised short course is designed for you if you are working in land management, horticulture, agriculture, or emergency services. You will gain essential skills for cross-cutting fallen timber using safe cutting techniques.

What You’ll Learn

• Safe operation of hand-held chainsaws
• Pre-start checks and maintenance procedures
• Cross-cutting techniques for fallen timber
• Workplace health and safety compliance
• Hands-on practice in a simulated outdoor environment

Entry Requirements
• Minimum age: 16
• Year 10 or equivalent recommended
• LLN assessment required (ACSF Level 2)
• Basic digital literacy skills

Certification
Upon successful completion, students will receive a Statement of Attainment for AHCMOM213 – Operate and Maintain Chainsaws.

    PPE - includes steel capped boots, leather gloves, eye and hearing protection. Pen and paper.

    Students are required to complete online pre-learning prior to the course date. Students will be emailed a link to this pre-learning one week prior to the course. If this pre-learning is not successfully completed before the course start date, you will be unable to participate in the course.
