Joinery - Dylan Bennett
Dylan is climbing the ladder of success as a stair builder.
At 23, he took out the 2017 Chisholm Education Award for Construction and Building Industry Services and is in the running for the Master Builders Association of Victoria Apprentice of the Year Award.
Since beginning his apprenticeship and studies at Chisholm, “I have gained more self-confidence and have also learnt to take a lot more pride in my work and in everything I do in life, which has given me a lot more satisfaction and a lot more self-worth,” Dylan says.
“Through my job and my training, I have learnt how to get the job done effectively and efficiently which has also carried over into all aspects of my life.”
Stair building especially has provided Dylan with the opportunity to work with his hands and challenge himself to be the best tradesman he can.
Dylan is another example of the award-winning trade students that go through Chisholm apprenticeship training. He follows in the footsteps of previous Chisholm Education Award winners and Master Builder Association of Victoria winners: Danielle Kazi-Shedden and Ebony Griffin.
Dylan has also discovered the value of lifelong learning to both his personal and his professional life. He is keen to encourage others who are interested in joining this industry and following his rewarding training pathway.
