Document Verification Service (DVS)
By providing your identity documents as part of your application, you authorise Chisholm Institute staff to validate your details, including your identity, with the Australian Government using a third party validation tool.
Chisholm may store some documentation you provide (such as a copy of your green Medicare card, passport or birth certificate) to assist in confirming your eligibility for government subsidy for your course.
The personal details you provide will be securely submitted to the Australian Government's Document Verification Service (DVS). The DVS is a national online system that allows organisations to compare an individual’s identifying information with a government record.
By continuing with your application and accepting Chisholm’s Terms and Conditions, you understand that the details you provide will be checked against the records held by the Issuer or Official Record Holder.
Concession entitlement
Primary card holder
By continuing with your online application and accepting Chisholm’s Terms and Conditions, where you are the Primary Card Holder and provide the details of your Commonwealth Health Care card or Pensioner Concession Card, you agree to:
- Allow Chisholm Institute to use greenID as the Gateway Service Provider to the Department of Home Affairs Document Verification Service to perform a Centrelink enquiry of my Centrelink customer details and concession card status to enable Chisholm Institute to determine if I qualify for a concession, rebate or service.
- The Australian Government Department of Home Affairs (the Department) providing the results of that enquiry to Chisholm Institute
And you understand that:
- The Department will disclose personal information to Chisholm Institute including my name, address, concession card type and status to confirm my eligibility for a discounted tuition fee.
- This consent, once signed, remains valid while I am an applicant or student of Chisholm Institute unless I withdraw it by contacting Chisholm Institute or the Department.
- I can get proof of my circumstances/details from the Department and provide it to Chisholm Institute so my eligibility for a discounted tuition fee can be determined.
- If I withdraw my consent or do not alternatively provide proof of my circumstances/details, I may not be eligible for the discounted tuition fee provided by Chisholm Institute.
Listed dependant or spouse of primary card holder
If you are a listed dependant or spouse of the primary card holder who is entitled to a concession, please download the 2020 Centrelink Document Verification Service Authorisation form for completion by the primary card holder.
VEVO – Visa, Residency and Study Rights verification
The Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) service allows visa holders, employers, education providers and other organisations to check visa details and conditions.
VEVO confirms the below details relating to an in-effect visa:
- the visa class/subclass
- the grant date
- the expiry date
- the stream
- the period of stay (how long you can stay)
- the conditions (what you can and can't do).
VEVO is not able to provide any details relating to visas that are not ‘in-effect’. For example, if you hold a Bridging visa but your substantive visa has not yet expired.
VEVO accepts:
- Non-Australian Passport
- ImmiCard
- Convention Travel Document – also known as a Titre de Voyage
- Document for Travel To Australia (DFTTA)
- PLO56 Evidence Card.
By continuing with your online application and accepting Chisholm’s Terms and Conditions, you agree to Chisholm performing a VEVO check where you provide details of one of the above documents.
