Electric Vehicle Accreditation for LVTs

This short course is for Licensed Vehicle Testers (LVTs) seeking the EV category to inspect electric and hybrid vehicles for roadworthy certification.

It covers the scope and limitations of EV accreditation, including applicable vehicle types, inspection requirements, safety procedures, and required equipment and premises.

A strong focus is placed on safety, risk awareness, and compliance, including hazards such as electric shock, fire, thermal runaway, and environmental risks, along with appropriate control measures.

Important: This course does not permit repair or modification of EV components. It is limited to visual inspection and testing within your existing licence category.

This is a fully online course that you can access at any time.

Once you have enrolled, you will receive a Welcome Email containing instructions on how to log in and access all online learning materials and activities.

After completing the learning content, you will need to arrange a time with our Automotive Department to discuss any questions you may have before attempting the final assessment.
Please allow approximately one hour to complete the final quiz.

As part of the assessment process, you must provide valid photo identification (such as a Driver's Licence) for verification purposes. A copy of your identification must be uploaded online before you can attempt the final quiz.
