Industry placement opportunities

Practical placement provides students with the opportunity to apply their learning in a real workplace environment. Chisholm works with host organisations to match students with suitable placement opportunities, enabling them to gain hands-on experience and complete the workplace learning and assessment requirements of their course.

Placement requirements

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30125)

Students undertaking the Certificate III are required to complete 160 hours of placement across both Babies & Toddlers and Kindergarten settings. During placement, students develop foundational skills and gain hands-on experience supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing under the guidance of experienced educators.

• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50125)

Students undertaking the Diploma must have successfully completed a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. They are required to complete 280 hours of placement across all age groups.

During placement, Diploma students build on their existing knowledge and skills by developing capabilities in leadership, mentoring and room management. They also gain experience planning and implementing educational programs and supporting high-quality practice within the service.
