The Certificate IV in Community Services will give you the skills to launch your career in the community sector so you can support individuals, clients or communities across a range of services.
You’ll learn the key principles in community services, including how to work within a community development framework, support community participation and social inclusion, work legally and ethically, assess co-existing needs, and work with diverse people.

This nationally-recognised qualification is a great introduction to work in the community sector and may lead to roles such as an outreach officer or support worker.
Experienced TAFE teachers will guide you through the course content which includes case studies and scenarios, interactive resources and activities.
You’ll study flexibly in our supportive online learning environment with weekly webinars and seven-day student support. You can choose whether to study one or two modules at a time, during four 10-week study periods each year -

Admission requirements
Applicants are required to complete BSKB and must obtain exit level 3 in both literacy and numeracy (working at level 4)., Applicants must also be currently employed in the sector or have an approved volunteer arrangement to complete certain tasks in the workplace., Applicants must be 18 years or over

Payment plans
At Chisholm, you can spread your tuition costs over the year by making part payments via direct debit on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. Payment plans are available for local students enrolling in certificate level courses only. Read more about payment plans.
Scholarships
Annual scholarships may be available to eligible students suffering financial hardship through the Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation. Find out more about the scholarships, which to date have supported more than 150 students with grants ranging from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand, depending on circumstance and the area of study.
