Gain the skills you need to provide quality education to children
If you are passionate about the development of young children and want to learn more about providing quality education and care in a range of environments, this course is for you.
The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care can provide entry level job opportunities in early childhood centres, home based care, or school-based environments, however many students go on to study higher level courses while employed within the field.
TIMETABLE
Full time - Berwick, Dandenong, Frankston, Bass Coast, Mornington Peninsula: Three days per week, plus a minimum 160 hours industry work placement.
Part time - Off campus study delivered remotely via Zoom with two support sessions per week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. There are some on site practical assessments that will be held on campus (Berwick) throughout the year. This is limited to approximately 3 sessions for the duration of the course.
Students are encouraged to attend weekly support classes via Zoom and make use of the online study resources found on our Moodle site.
Early Childhood and School Based Education Support courses have compulsory practical placement requirements. These placements need to be conducted in the following regions to ensure we can offer adequate support and assessment staff for students undertaking their placements;
-South East Suburbs
-Mornington Peninsula
-Bass Coast
Workshop – Online or Frankston: One full day workshop per fortnight on campus or online & one evening workshop remote delivery online via Zoom per alternate fortnight. Workshop applicants must be currently employed and working in the early childhood industry where they can undertake the minimum 160 hours work placement requirement.
Mode of delivery: Delivery will be a mix of blended classroom based, face-to-face and online learning.
