The Certificate II in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology is an entry point into the furnishing and woodworking industry. It provides a strong foundation for those who enjoy hands‑on work and creating precision timber products. This course is ideal for individuals interested in working with tools, materials and machinery in cabinet making, carpentry, and construction trades.

This qualification equips you with the essential practical skills and knowledge required to support workshop operations, including the safe use of hand and power tools, basic machining processes, and working with timber and manufactured board products. You’ll also develop key skills in workplace safety, measuring and interpreting job specifications, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment.

You’ll be supported by experienced teachers in fully equipped workshops that reflect real job sites. Upon successful completion, you’ll be well prepared to continue into a Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology or Certificate III in Carpentry. You can also pursue various entry-level roles within the furnishing and timber industry.
