Scholarship Overview:

The 2026 Higher Education Academic Merit Scholarship is available to continuing international students enrolled in CRICOS registered higher education (degree) programs at Chisholm Institute in 2026.

The scholarship will be applied as a one-off credit toward outstanding future tuition fees, subject to applicants meeting the eligibility criteria outlined below. This scholarship does not result in a cash payment.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a full fee paying, continuing international student enrolled in a CRICOS registered higher education degree program at Chisholm Institute, having completed at least one semester of study.
  • Hold a valid Subclass 500 Student Visa or be in the process of obtaining one.
  • Maintain compliance with the conditions of their student visa, including satisfactory course progress, attendance, and enrolment requirements in accordance with the ESOS Act 2000, National Code 2018 and Chisholm institute policies.
  • Achieve a distinction average in their most recent semester, with no failing grades and maintain satisfactory attendance in the most recent and current semester.
  • Ensure all tuition fees and associated charges are paid or are being paid by due date.

Application Process

  • Applicants must complete a scholarship nomination form and submit the completed form along with the requested information/documentation to international@chisholm.edu.au by 12 October 2026.
  • Students must email international@chisholm.edu.au to request the scholarship nomination form or obtain the same from their educator
  • Applications will be assessed by a scholarship panel based on:
    • Academic performance
    • Attendance
    • Compliance with enrolment and visa conditions
  • All applications will be assessed in a fair, transparent, and equitable manner.

Terms and Conditions

  • Recipients must maintain a full-time study load, unless otherwise approved. Students with a reduced study load may remain eligible, subject to assessment.
  • Students must continue to meet course progress and visa compliance requirements.
  • Students on an approved deferment or leave of absence in accordance with National Code provisions (compassionate or compelling circumstances) may remain eligible, subject to assessment.
  • Students granted advanced standing or credit transfer remain eligible to apply.
  • The scholarship will be applied as a one-off credit towards future tuition fees due after October 2026.
  • If the successful recipient is in their final semester and the fees have been paid in full, the scholarship amount will be refunded back to the student
  • The scholarship:
    • Is non-transferable
    • Is not redeemable for cash
    • Cannot be deferred to another student, course, or study period
  • The scholarship cannot be applied retrospectively to students who have completed or withdrawn from their studies.
  • This scholarship is not contingent on visa grant outcomes and does not guarantee admission, enrolment, or visa approval.
  • Students must remain compliant with all ESOS Act 2000, National Code 2018, and Chisholm Institute policies.
  • Chisholm reserves the right to revoke the scholarship and adjust the student’s fee account if a student:
    • Withdraws from their course
    • Transfers between courses
    • Fails to meet academic or visa requirements
    • Is reported for non-compliance
    • Breaches visa conditions resulting in enrolment cancellation
  • Chisholm reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship if false or misleading information is provided.
  • Only successful applicants will be notified via email.
  • Due to the volume of applications, unsuccessful applicants may not receive individual feedback/notifications.
  • Students must maintain enrolment and ensure all fees are paid by the due dates.
  • If there is a delay in scholarship outcomes, a credit equivalent to the scholarship value (AUD $2,000) will be applied to the accounts of successful applicants before December 2026.
  • The award of the scholarship is at the sole discretion of Chisholm Institute, and decisions are final and there will be no appeals in the event of a student being unsuccessful or having their scholarship withdrawn.
  • Chisholm reserves the right to amend or withdraw the scholarship prior to award or without prior notice. There are only 20 scholarships available.
  • All applicant information will be handled in accordance with Chisholm Institute’s Privacy Policy.
  • Students may have access to Chisholm’s complaints and appeals policy if required.
