Advance your career in the early childhood education and care sector

According to Jobs and Skills Australia, a shortage of early childhood educators has seen the Victorian Government increase funding in the sector, paving the way for more jobs. Develop advanced skills in early childhood education with a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care – Traineeship.

The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is now a prerequisite for this diploma. It allows you to learn the basics first, then take further study to advance your skillset. You'll also complete your learning pathway with two nationally recognised qualifications.

In this diploma, you’ll combine work-based training with the theoretical elements delivered by Chisholm. Traineeships are a great way to be paid, learn and earn a qualification. To enrol, you must be employed in an early childhood centre, and a training contract between you and your employer is required.

You’ll learn to design and implement curriculums in early education. And you’ll be prepared to foster holistic learning, childhood development and wellbeing. The course also teaches self-reflection skills and how to improve your education and care practice.

Your skills will be developed to supervise volunteers and other early childhood educators. You'll also learn to support and manage teams and individuals in a leadership role.

The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care qualification is highly regarded by employers. Upon completion of the course, you'll be able to work at a senior level in a variety of children's services.

After graduation, you can take your prior learning and pathway into the second year of Chisholm's Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education), delivered in partnership with Federation University. Or pathway to several universities where you may receive direct credit for a Bachelor of Education Primary &/or Early Childhood degree.
