Eligible Chisholm nursing students undertaking mandatory placements may soon benefit from the Australian Government's Commonwealth Prac Payment (CPP) starting from 1 July 2025.

The Commonwealth Prac Payment is designed to alleviate the financial pressures associated with unpaid placements. Program guidelines are currently being developed by the Department of Education in collaboration with education providers.

When is this available?

From 1 July, 2025.

How much is available?

$331.65 per week (benchmarked to the single Austudy rate).

How do I apply?

Domestic Chisholm students enrolled in a Chisholm Bachelor of Nursing or Diploma of Nursing who are completing placement hours on or after 1 July 2025 can apply for the Commonwealth Prac Payment (CPP).

You will need to gather your eligibility evidence, including citizenship, enrolment, placement dates, income, and log in to Your Career portal via MyGov to submit your application and await the assessment outcome.
