Defeating hackers starts with learning their tricks

One of the biggest growth areas in information and communication technologies, cyber security, is essential for the political, social and economic health of the world. Cyber security is one of the fastest growing career opportunities in the information technology industry; that’s why we offer courses in cyber security at Chisholm

Cyber security presents Australia with risk and with opportunities. We have to make sure that we capitalise on the opportunities, but we also have to make sure that we understand the risks. It’s hard to find any part of the Australian economy that isn’t in some way or some part digitalised.

In mid-2017 Australia deployed a $230 million Cyber Security Strategy. The strategy aims to make sure that in every way possible we are preparing ourselves to be as cyber secure as we possibly can, and we’re not going to be able to do that unless we have the co-operation of all those in the Australian community.

Education matters

Although the funding has arrived, it is unclear whether Australia has the resources to capitalise on the opportunities cyber security presents.
