The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification reflects the roles of individuals delivering training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector. This qualification is also suitable preparation for those engaged in the delivery of training and assessment of competence in a workplace context.

During the course, you will develop skills in areas such as facilitating group-based learning programs, facilitating in the workplace, developing learning programs, work skill instruction, assessment activities and processes including designing and developing assessment tools, using training packages and accredited courses and adult language literacy and numeracy skills support.

Students entering this program must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.

On Campus Delivery: One day per week for 35 weeks, 9am - 3pm (excluding term breaks)

Online Plus: One day per week via Zoom for 35 weeks 9.00am to 3.00pm (excluding term breaks).
• Delivered via weekly timetabled Zoom classes, these are offered both during the day and after hours 2 evenings per week.
• Classes are NOT recorded so if you miss the occasional class you will need to make up your missed learning, we can support you to do this.
• You will be required to undertake assessment delivery tasks that require you to be face to face with small groups of live participants, these can NOT be done virtually during Zoom sessions.
• You will need a suitable device to record these assessment tasks and provide links to your recordings. The following platforms are suitable, Zoom, YouTube, OneDrive.


Online Self Directed: 12 months based on the recommended 15 – 18 hours of self guided study per week.

• There will be approximately 15-18 hours of study time per week broken up into learning, practice and assessments.
• This course is self directed, NOT self paced, you will be required to follow a delivery schedule and meet assessment due date deadlines.
• Study support is available via a cloud classroom where you can book sessions with your teacher and also attend weekly support sessions.
• You will be required to undertake assessment delivery tasks that require you to be physically present to deliver face to face with small groups of live participants, these can NOT be done virtually.
• You will need a suitable device to record these assessment tasks and provide links to your recordings. The following platforms are suitable, Zoom, YouTube, OneDrive.
• There will also be assessments that need to be completed in a workplace/ simulated environment.
