Train and study at the Chisholm Sports Academy
The Chisholm Sports Academy is designed for talented, young aspiring athletes to reach their athletic potential while completing their senior secondary studies or while pursuing a career in the Sport and Recreation and Fitness industries at certificate or diploma level.
Athlete focused and providing high-performance coaching and a range of holistic athlete development services, the Chisholm Sports Academy is aligned with achieving educational goals.
We recognise the importance of obtaining an education, industry experience and employability skills, so that students have a range of options and career paths available whilst enjoying the sport/life balance. We take our students' future and the investment they make in their education seriously. We provide a supportive, professional, high-performance learning and training environment, designed to harness their passion and help them reach their goals.
Students accepted in the Chisholm Sports Academy undertake their chosen educational pathway in conjunction with their specialised sports training.
Delivery specialises in one of the following sports: Football, Netball, Basketball and Soccer
The program includes:
- One, 2-hour training session per week
- During each session athletes will complete sports specific training focused on enhancing sports performance.
- These sessions will focus on improving athlete physiology, technical skills, tactical awareness, psychology and recovery.
- Physiological testing and performance reviews
- Certificate of completion
Commencement date: 13 March, 2024
Delivery location: Cranbourne (must be flexible to travel to Casey fields, Casey Stadium)
Length: Part Time, 1 year
Proposed delivery (Subject to numbers): Wednesdays 9:30am-11:30am

Educational Pathway
The Chisholm Sports Academy Program is aligned with the following educational pathways so students can develop their skills while receiving an industry qualification or a senior secondary certificate. Students can choose from multiple study options, including VCE and VCE VM, Certificates III and IV in Fitness, Diploma of Sport pathways and various other courses at Chisholm.
- Diploma of Sport.
- Certificate III in Fitness
- Certificate IV in Fitness
- VETDSS (Year 10, 11 & 12)
- VCE and VCE Vocational Major (Year 10, 11 & 12)
- Any current student of Chisholm Institute of TAFE
How to apply?
All students wishing to apply for an enrolment opportunity into the sports academy must complete a multi-step process.
- Register your expression of interest below. You must be a current student at Chisholm Institute of TAFE.
- Attend discovery day and a trial session. Ongoing dates provided after completing your expression of interest. Trials are conducted throughout September, October, November, and January each year.
- Enrolment application has been accepted into Chisholm Academic program.
