Construct and install water distribution assets
This short course covers skills and knowledge required to construct and install water distribution assets. It includes constructing and installing assets, pipes, and associated fittings, confirming work quality and finalising work.
The short course is suitable for those working as field and operational staff with responsibility for ensuring water distribution assets are constructed and installed in a safe and timely manner. Those undertaking this short course would be existing water industry workers, contractors or sub-contractors who work under appropriate supervision either independently or in a team to ensure minimum damage to the environment as they undertake their jobs.
Student must be physically able to excavate and prepare trenches for laying network pipes.
Pre-requisite unit: NWPNET064 – Control electrical risk on network pipes
After successfully completing this course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the nationally accredited unit: NWPNET049 Construct and install water distribution assets.
