Learn essential sterilisation skills to work in a meaningful role in healthcare

Jobs and Skills Australia says that employment in the healthcare industry has grown strongly over the last 20 years, which is expected to continue.

Sterilisation professionals are essential to the healthcare sector. The Certificate III in Sterilisation Services is a nationally recognised qualification. Successful completion may lead to employment as an instrument technician, sterilisation technician or assistant.

You'll learn skills including cleaning and disinfecting reusable medical equipment, caring for surgical instruments and working with sterile stock and equipment. You'll gain essential abilities in infection control. You'll also learn to develop effective working habits and professional relationships.

Your classes will mix theoretical learning and the practical skills needed for the workplace. The assessment of several units will be undertaken in our sterilisation lab, which simulates a real healthcare environment.

This course follows a flipped classroom method. You'll learn content online before coming to campus to consolidate key concepts.
