Harmony Day / Close the Gap

During National Harmony Week we hold a range of free events to celebrate cultural diversity and create a sense of belonging for everyone in the Chisholm community.

This event also recognises National Close the Gap Day, creating awareness to close the life expectancy gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.

Reconciliation Week / Sorry Day acknowledgement

This is an important day where we mark the National Apology to the Stolen Generations who suffered as a result of past government policies of forced child removal and assimilation.

We commemorate and acknowledge the wrongs of the past, while reflecting on the work that still needs to be done to address the impacts of unresolved trauma.

Throughout Reconciliation Week our Indigenous Engagement Unit and Student Life team present students with a series of workshops and cultural immersion activities.

R U OK? Day

R U OK? Day is a national mental health initiative to make people feel connected and protected from suicide.

Come along for interactive games and information as well as morning tea. Our Student Support staff and counsellors will be at our R U OK Day events to provide support, including emergency support, for students who might be triggered by these conversations.
