Delivered as a part-time evening course over 8 weeks, this teacher lead online Zoom workshop will follow a structured timetable. This skillset develops the foundational skills to launch your own business, scale up your current micro business and identify business opportunities or side hustles.

The skill set covers; researching and identifying viable business opportunities, understanding the legislative frameworks in which businesses operate in Australia, and developing business plans for achieving business goals and objectives.

This training is suitable for those looking to establish or operate a business where you are self-employed and have ideas to expand.

The units you will undertake as part of the skill set are:

BSBESB301 Investigate business opportunities
BSBESB401 Research and develop business plans


This skillset is accredited training and allows you to progress further to study the BSB40320 Certificate IV Entrepreneurship and New Business.

Self-Employment Assistance Program

The Micro Business Skill Set is undertaken as part of the Self-Employment Assistance Program that is funded by the Australian Federal Government. For students who meet the criteria, this skillset has no tuition fee for students.

Eligibility

•be at least 15 years of age (or at least 18 years of age to access Small Business Coaching)
•be an Australian citizen, holder of a permanent visa, or a nominated Visa Holder (including a New Zealand Special Category Visa, Temporary Protection Visa Holder, and a Safe Haven Visa Holder)
•not be an undischarged bankrupt
•not already be in studying or working (or both) for more than 25 hours per week
•meet any additional eligibility criteria specific to the Self-Employment Assistance service you have chosen.
•Participants must be residing in the South-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne at time of commencing the training.
•Please note that Transcend are only contracted to provide support to participants in the South Eastern Melbourne and Peninsula region.
