This course is designed for beginners who are interested in learning how to make jewellery using Precious Metal Clay (PMC).

PMC combines silver powder with non-toxic binders and water.

The clay can be readily sculpted, pressed into moulds, or embedded with crisp textures and patterns providing lots of scope for getting creative. When fired using a torch or kiln, the binder burns away and the silver sinters, transforming the malleable clay into solid silver.

During this session you will learn the following:

- How to prepare and handle Precious Metal Clay – Fine Silver and Sterling Silver
- How to create patterns and textures using PMC
- Prepping your pieces for firing
- How to fire PMC using a torch and a kiln
- Polishing and finishing
- How to add different patinas
- Uses and limitations of PMC
- Guide to tools, equipment and supplies for setting up at home

By the end of this class you will have made a number of handmade silver pieces to take home.

You will also be provided with a guide for setting up at home plus a list of suppliers.
