Make a splash as a qualified swim teacher!

This short course provides the skills and knowledge to work as a swim teacher across a range of swimming and water safety contexts.

The course is delivered over two days plus six hours of placement where you will learn how to instruct and teach water familiarisation, buoyancy and mobility skills, as well as swimming and survival strokes to a range of clients with varying abilities.

All applicants are required to hold the following:
• Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Current HLTAID003 or HLTAID011 Provide first aid certificate
• Experience or understanding of the following swimming strokes:
o Freestyle
o Backstroke
o Butterfly
o Breaststroke
o Sidestroke
o Survival backstroke

In addition, students must hold the relevant fitness and strength required to conduct basic water rescues such as towing a person in difficulty at least 10 meters with their nose and mouth above water to the point of safety.
