The Controlled Environment Horticulture Unit at Chisholm Cranbourne is one of the only facilities of its kind in Australia and is designed to facilitate training for the CEH industry on a Local, Regional, National and International level. The $1.2m facility has 1,500 square meters of greenhouse space and state-of-the-art technology provided by Dutch company Priva.
The Cranbourne Creative Development Studio - fondly known as 'the fishbowl' - is fully equipped with the latest IT equipment to give students undertaking a range of courses the best possible resources to work with.
The library at Chisholm Cranbourne is one of the most well resourced in the area, with a full range of Australian and international books, texts, periodical and journals. Students can also use the computer workstations.
A thriving modern campus, Cranbourne is equipped with the latest training facilities and has been designed to allow easy, informal interaction outside designated learning spaces. It also has a student cafeteria, library, free parking and is just a short walk from central Cranbourne.
The Cranbourne campus has state-of-the-art computer and multimedia facilities and a number of classrooms and learning labs to facilitate teaching.
Chisholm Cranbourne's unique natural wetlands area was created and built by students and has featured on the ABC's 'Gardening Australia' program. It's part of a suite of facilities - including the Centre for Sustainable Water Management and Controlled Environment Horticulture Unit - that make Chisholm Cranbourne one of the leading training locations for water, conservation & land management, production horticulture and amenity horticulture.

What will it cost me if I qualify for a government subsidised place?
In 2012 the government will pay majority of the cost of your training, if you are eligible.
The Victorian Government will continue the $100 tuition fee for all TAFE Diploma and Advanced Diploma students who are under 25 years old on 1 January, 2012 and who are listed on a Commonwealth Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Veterans' Gold Card at the time of their enrolment.
The new $100 tuition fee only applies to students who enrol in a Diploma or Advanced Diploma course from 1 February 2011, or who are entering a second or consecutive year of study. This reduces the tuition fee from a possible $2,500 to just $100 for those eligible students.

To enrol at Chisholm, you need to apply, and then be accepted. Procedures to apply for courses vary. A TAFE application may go through VTAC, for example. In other cases the application may be direct to Chisholm or through your employer or school.
With a successful Chisholm Institute of TAFE application, in some cases, you may need to attend an information session or submit a portfolio prior to completing your enrolment.
