  • Notes

The new Bachelor of Community Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs has been developed in close consultation with practitioners, academics, professional bodies, employer groups and policy makers at state and national level.

Designed to meet the growing demand for highly trained practitioners in the field of mental health, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), this unique degree is the first undergraduate qualification in Australia specifically dedicated to delivering a practical, applied approach geared towards the demands of today's mental health services workplace.

A graduate of this degree will have a broad but allied set of specialised, non-clinical skills that complement the more clinical orientation of their colleagues such as psychiatrists, nurses, social workers and other professions with focused skill sets.

This degree has also been developed with post-graduate pathways in mind and is designed to lead naturally into higher qualifications, such as a Masters. There are strong lead-in pathways from existing diplomas and other relevant qualifications.

Entry requirements: No formal requirements. The course is ideal for long-term community service workers seeking to validate their industry experience or enhance existing qualifications.
