Employability Skills Workshop

This workshop aims to provide students with an understanding of the skills employers are seeking from graduates. In acknowledging an increasingly competitive labour market, it is more important than ever that individuals can identify their transferable skills and provide evidence of these to prospective employers.

We will support you to identify your employability skills and learn how to articulate these to an employer when applying for a job.

Skills Based Resumes Workshops

Your resume is your best ‘marketing’ tool. It is how you sell yourself to a prospective employer. Come along to this resume writing workshop and learn how to write a winning resume! At the workshop you’ll learn:

  • What to include, and what not to include in your resume
  • Layout and formatting tips
  • Tailoring your resume to address the requirements of the role
  • Articulating your skills and experiences.

Cover Letters and Key Selection Criteria Workshops

It is important that each job application you submit is tailored to the requirements for that role. To improve your chances of being shortlisted for a role, it is recommended you write a cover letter.

Come along to this workshop and learn how to write a cover letter and how to address key selection criteria. In this workshop we will provide cover letter examples and tips for addressing key selection criteria (according to individual employer requirements).

Employers are increasingly using LinkedIn as a tool to identify suitable candidates for job opportunities. From a candidate perspective, it is an important tool to support your job search and access job opportunities and potential employers.

Come along to this workshop to gain tips on how to create your LinkedIn profile and the many useful functions of this social media platform.
