Employment in hair, beauty and make-up continues to grow, boosted by demands for creativity and new techniques from the fashion, media and design industries.

Above-average demand for hairdressers is expected through to 2019, and opportunities for beauty therapists are also expected to increase.

Job outcomes across this industry include hairdresser, barber, beauty therapist, make-up artist and specialist make-up artist.

At Chisholm, our students get the chance to undertake courses either as apprenticeships or studying full time. Further study of diplomas or even graduate certificates are available too.

Our facilities include simulated state-of-the-art salon environments which makes the learning journey a more authentic one, and some of our courses include 240 hours' placement within the salon environment. This enables students to put their new-found skills into practise while gaining real-life experience working on clients.

Chisholm is now offering master classes in Barbering as well. Delivered at the Berwick Trade Careers Centre, boasting state-of-the art salon and training facilities, the course is designed to equip you with skills and confidence to excel in today’s world of barbering. The course will teach you techniques such as fading, blending and texturizing through workshops with demonstrations. View the video below to learn more about our Master Barbering Workshops.
