Employment in the sector is expected to keep growing significantly through to 2019, with jobs including electricians, carpenters, builders, bricklayers, draftspersons, estimators, labourers, registered plumbers, joiners, plasterers, architectural drafters and residential building designers.
At Chisholm we offer a broad range of building trades to study, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, joinery, cabinet making, bricklaying and building design. In addition, there are a host of support roles within the industry that Chisholm can provide training in, including sales, marketing, management, human resources, project management and more.
Chisholm students learn industry-relevant skills from qualified teachers who are trade professionals, many still owning and operating their own businesses. Teaching is conducted in simulated workplace environments, with students learning through hands-on projects. Chisholm building trades students have won awards at World Skills competitions and other major awards, such as the Master Builders Association apprenticeship awards.
