Chisholm is to deliver a five-year skills development program to 300 staff at world-leading rail manufacturer Bombardier Transportation

The program, starting August 2016, will deliver nationally accredited training to new and existing trades-based production, services and managerial staff based at Bombardier's Dandenong manufacturing hub, with a view to expand statewide.

Bombardier is a major long-time employer within South East Melbourne. The partnership with Chisholm has been designed for Bombardier to further develop career pathways for each of their business units, providing every employee a prospect for career progression and long term employment within the engineering, manufacturing and maintenance functions of the business.

Chisholm will deliver the training on site at Bombardier to minimize downtime and disruption to daily operations and maximize effectiveness around existing project timelines.

This partnership will position Bombardier well to provide ongoing education and further upskill their 450+ strong workforce in Dandenong and beyond. Bombardier is one of three shortlisted manufacturers in line to deliver 65 new trains as part of the Victorian Government’s High Capacity Metro Train Project to be announced later this year.
