Begin your career in the building and construction industry with this course

This program provides students the knowledge and skills to enhance their employment prospects in the building and construction industry. On successful completion of the VCE VET program, students have achieved approximately two thirds of the pre-apprenticeship certificate, comprising the certificate core and some stream specific modules. This provides partial completion of 22216VIC - Certificate II in Building and Construction. Students wishing to complete the entire pre-apprenticeship certificate need to undertake modules beyond the requirements of the VCE VET program.

2nd year VETiS students may enrol in units that address the plaster, paint and tile trades specifically, and are different to the units offered to those that will be enrolled for students continuing with the carpentry stream.

Certificate II in Building and Construction 22216VIC is an applicable entry for all construction related training and as such the first year is primarily core subjects for all streams.

The "Building Multitrade” VETiS program is a compromise to try and facilitate the promotion of the Certificate II in Building and Construction as a pathway to a variety of construction trades including plumbing, bricklaying and electrical as graduates gain experience of reading plans, communication, calculations, hand tools.
