The Restricted Electrical Worker's Licence, previously known as 'D' licence, (REL) entitles the licence holder to carry out disconnect and reconnect low-voltage electrical installation work relating to:
• equipment that is connected to a fixed electrical installation,
• associated with your primary trade, vocation or occupation, and
• would otherwise require the services of a registered electrical contractor or a licensed electrician.

This licence type only allows the disconnection and reconnection of 'like for like' equipment, for the purposes of repair, replacement and maintenance.
The Restricted Electrical Worker's Licence does not allow for electrical wiring and installation work at low voltage or above. All fixed electrical installation work requires a licensed electrician and a registered electrical contractor.

You must apply for the REL licence at ESV (Energy Safe Victoria) after successful completion of this course and assessment.

The course fee does not include external exams, which are conducted after your course completion date. The exam assessment includes theoretical and practical tests. The assessment can be organised on campus for an additional $180 at the completion of your course.

On successful completion of this course you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the following nationally recognised unit of competency: UEENEEE101A Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace.

And ONE of the following nationally recognised units of competency:

UEENEEP010A Disconnect / reconnect appliances connected to low voltage installation wiring
UEENEEP011A Disconnect / reconnect neon signs connected to low voltage installation wiring
UEENEEP012A Disconnect / reconnect composite appliances connected to low voltage installation wiring
UEENEEP013A Disconnect / reconnect control devices connected to low voltage installation wiring
UEENEEP014A Disconnect / reconnect water heaters connected to low voltage installation wiring
