Explore the exciting and creative world of Photography - both the Commercial and Fine Art perspectives.

Master the basic principles and craft of photography, from camera care, the elements of composition to landscape, portrait and night photography. This course will help you understand both the technical and creative requirements to take a good photograph. Photographers working in industry will guide you to develop an understanding of your digital SLR camera and its manual settings, and introduce you to basic lighting techniques.


The course is a suitable introduction for students wanting to enter Chisholm's Certificate IV or Diploma of Photography and Photo Imaging.

• Digital SLR camera (not a compact camera)
• camera instruction manual
• basic tripod
