This hands-on course gives the learner a sound grounding in the use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.
In the Word component, participants use a wide range of essential features to create and edit professional looking documents typical of work or at home situations. This includes text manipulation and enhancement, paragraph and page formatting, creating and using tabs and tables, enhancing documents with clip art and pictures, and even the essentials of mail merge to create multiple documents.
The Outlook component covers areas sufficient to enable students to send and receive emails, work with attachments, schedule appointments (Calendar), maintain contact details (People) and manage To-Do lists (Tasks).
No prior knowledge of Outlook or Word is required, but participants do need to know how to use a Windows computer.
This course is part of the Business Information Technology Program and uses the Microsoft Office suite.
