Gain skills to safely work with chemicals

This course, designed to meet industry needs, is for people who work with chemicals in agriculture and horticulture (as defined under the Agriculture and Veterinary Chemicals Act 1992).

Over 2 days you will gain the knowledge and skills you need to safely use these chemicals.

Taught by highly regarded trainers, this program is a relevant and respected training course developed to suit changing industry needs.

Successful completion of the Agvet Chemical Users Course will enable the participant to apply for Agricultural User Permit (ACUP) from the Department of Environment and Primary Industries (DPI) which is required for S.7 chemicals and other chemicals such as GarlonĀ®.

On successful completion of this course, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for the following nationally accredited units of study:

AHCCHM303 Prepare and apply chemicals
AHCCHM304 Transport, handle and store chemicals

Areas of study include: selection of chemicals, understanding labels, transporting and storing chemicals, mixing chemicals, clean up and disposing of chemicals, decanting and mixing, application of chemicals, pests and pest control, planning chemical usage, understanding farm chemicals, spray drift, and first aid procedures.
