Chisholm is partnering with the Australian Hot & Mineral Springs Bathing Alliance (Bathing Australia) to provide advanced training for those currently working in or considering a career in the wellness and bathing sector.
The hydrothermal wellness qualification provides a pathway to becoming a leader in wellness, hosting and guiding guests through safe and innovative wellness experiences within a thermal, mineral springs or urban bathing environment.
This qualification also provides the skills and knowledge to effectively lead and supervise a wellness team and influence and manage business operations.

With this program, you will gain the knowledge and unique practical experience needed to thrive in the thermal and mineral springs industry, learning everything from global bathing traditions and indigenous water practices to workplace wellness and safety standards. You’ll develop a deep understanding of the science and benefits of hydrothermal wellness, team management, and effective customer service techniques, empowering you to craft and lead exceptional wellness experiences.
In this training, you'll acquire practical skills and knowledge for leading a team that facilitates wellness experiences including, but not limited to:
- Thermal bathing
- Global bathing traditions
- Sauna and dry heat therapy
- Cold plunge, ice baths and contrast bathing
- Warm water exercise
- Mud and clay rituals
- Meditation, relaxation & breathwork
- Hydration and tea ceremony

Eligibility Length
Part-time, 12 months
On-Campus Learning: Attend classes 2 days per week from October 2024 – November 2025.
On-Location Practical Learning: Participate in 20 days of practical training at Peninsula Hot Springs. 1 Day on location from December 2024 – June 2025.

Admission requirements
- Learners enrolling in the Hydrothermal Wellness training are best equipped to successfully undertake the qualification if they have minimum language, literacy and numeracy skills that align to Level 3 of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).
- Learners with language, literacy and numeracy skills at lower levels than those suggested may require additional support to successfully undertake the qualification.
