When you complete the Diploma of Youth Work, you’ll have extensive knowledge about the social, behavioural, development and health needs of young people in the community. You’ll also have the ability to make important decisions about youth at risk, and provide case management and first aid for young people in need.
You’ll have specialist skills in areas such as: needs assessment, service delivery, advocacy, effective communication, community education, networking, case work, workplace safety, first aid, empowerment, legal and ethical frameworks, cultural diversity, child protection, mental health, and group activities. This course prepares you for work in a demanding and ever-changing industry, which requires a high level of skill, knowledge and expertise.
