The Diploma of Visual Arts will support the production of creative work specific to the following two streams:
- Fine Arts
When you complete the course you’ll have a broad understanding of visual art theory and practice. You’ll also have the confidence to produce creative artwork using a range of traditional and digital mediums. You’ll expand your practical skills in areas such as painting, printmaking, sculpture, drawing, digital imaging and gallery duration.
When you complete the illustration, you’ll have a broad understanding of illustration theory and practice. You’ll expand your practical skills in areas such as interpretation of briefs, development of concepts and layouts, preparation of artwork and presentation of finished artwork to meet defined timelines.
Strong emphasis is placed on developing students’ ability to create their own designs. Through groups design activities and new approaches to handling materials, students will discover innovative ways to create arts.
On completion of this course, graduates will enter the arts industry with the skills needed to present their work directly to the public, supply to retail outlets, or find employment in an art business.
